Josh Castro

Coach Profile
Josh is from Deltona, FL and attended Trinity Christian Academy in Middle School as well as DeLand High School and Deltona High School. Josh received his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. He currently stays with his mother and younger brother Joseph in Deltona. Josh has an older brother JJ, who competed at the D3 college level. Josh’s father coach Jorge Castro is a famous youth basketball coach in the Orlando area.

Basketball Career

AAU
Florida Static – competed for a local AAU team coached by his father until 8th grade
TNBA South-competed for TNBA’s AAU program in Orlando, Florida dubbed TNBA South from 9th grade until the end of high school for coaches Will Benner, Christopher Flash and Antonio Santana

School Teams
Trinity Christian Academy – competed as the leading point guard for Trinity in 6th, 7th and 8th grades, leading scorer in 7th and 8th grade

Deland High School – Josh attended Deland High during his freshman and sophomore year, competing in the JV team

Deltona High School – Josh transferred to Deltona for financial reasons and graduated from the school in the class of 2019.

After receiving a division 3 offer, Josh elected to go to USF to pursue academics

TNBA Career
Josh had begun working with The National Basketball Academy immediately upon graduation in 2019. From diligence in seeking knowledge to understand the game during his tenure as a player and coach, Josh has learned and studied the game under multiple legendary TNBA coaches including coaches Jack Lutzeier, Ryan Kittleson, Andrew Teal and Jorge Castro. his favorite part of the game is navigating how to work as a team and finding a way to help others so everyone can achieve growth.
